Hi guys,

These are the manual install instructions for Ribbon Login for Snow Leopard.

I have received a lot of comments recently that the installer hasn't worked properly and the theme has not been applied in the correct way.

If this is the case for you follow these instructions.

This should be installed from an administrator account. You need to have full permissions to edit system files.

Install Instructions:

1. Download the resources pack here.

2. Locate /system/library/coreservices/securityagentplugins on your Mac.

3. Make a backup of the original loginwindow.bundle file and store it in a safe place.

4. Now replace loginwindow.bundle with the one found in the resources pack.

5. You will be asked to authenticate the action, type in your administrator password when prompted.

6. Locate /library/preferences on your Mac.

7. Make a backup of the original com.apple.loginwindow.plist file and store it in a safe place.

8. Now replace com.apple.loginwindow.plist with the one found in the resources pack.

9. Log out and enjoy!

Uninstall Instructions:

1. Locate /system/library/coreservices/securityagentplugins on your Mac.

2. Now replace loginwindow.bundle with the backup you made during the installation.

3. You will be asked to authenticate the action, type in your administrator password when prompted.

4. Locate /library/preferences on your Mac.

5. Now replace com.apple.loginwindow.plist with the backup you made during the installation.

6. Log out.
